Dr. Camille Weissenberg: Committed to Family Eye Health

The most rewarding part of my practice is helping people who are new to glasses. I’m passionate about primary eye care, and it is exciting to see people get their first pair of glasses and see clearly for the first time, or see clearly for the first time in years.

I enjoy helping patients of all ages see better with glasses and contacts, and I especially enjoy helping families in my community. It is rewarding to build long lasting relationships with an entire family while addressing their individual vision care needs.

As an active member of the California Optometric Association (COA), I have the opportunity to help get students engaged and involved in legislative changes surrounding optometry and bring awareness to the public about the field of optometry and the importance of eye health.

I’m also passionate about providing vision care and free exams and glasses to underserved populations. My past volunteer work includes two medical mission trips to Nicaragua through Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), and providing vision screenings at the annual DSHP Diabetic Health Fair in Concord.

I enjoy volunteering for local events like the Diabetic Health Fair because it is a chance to share with people about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle so that they can have healthy eyesight for many years. I also love doing mission trips abroad and providing eye exams and glasses to people who have very little access to healthcare. Giving someone glasses who desperately needs them really makes a huge impact on their life.

Before joining the Brookside family, I graduated from UC Davis with my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and graduated Beta Sigma Kappa with my Doctorate of Optometry from UC Berkeley School of Optometry.

My husband and I currently live in Fairfield, and were married this past June after being together for almost 9 years. He is currently studying to become a pharmacist at Touro University in Vallejo, CA. In my free time, we enjoy hiking, reading, traveling, and entertaining our two rescue cats, June Bug and Lucy.
