Health and Safety Changes

brookside-office

The next time you visit Brookside Optometric for your eye care needs, some things will be different. As we reopen to deliver a full range of essential eye health and vision care, the health and safety of our patients, staff, and the members of our community remains our top priority.

As part of our patient protocol, we’d like to highlight the structural and procedural changes that we’ve put in place for your health and safety:

Patient Screening

We are screening our patients when they call to make an appointment to see if they may be at high risk for COVID-19 infection. Any high risk patients will be asked to schedule an appointment at least two weeks into the future.

Temperature Screening

Our office is performing temperature screening measurements and sending home any patients or staff who have a fever.

Masks

We are providing masks for our patients that arrive without them, and all of our doctors and staff will have masks in place during your care.

Sanitizing Surfaces

We are sterilizing all surfaces several times a day. Ultraviolet light frame sanitizers kill bacteria and viruses, and keep our frames COVID-19 free.

Waiting Room

We are practicing social distancing in our waiting room. We encourage you to arrive on time for your appointment, and if you arrive early, we offer you the option of waiting in your car until your doctor is ready for you.

Patient Companions

We are limiting patient companions to a single parent, caretaker, or guardian per appointment.

Protective Shields

New plexiglass shields have been installed at our reception desk and our financial checkout station. Our enhanced protective protocols also include new protective breath shields on all slit lamps.

Contactless Payment

We encourage the use of Apple Pay and other touchless payment systems.

Contact Lenses

We encourage the shipment of contact lenses directly to your home to avoid any unnecessary exposure.

We look forward to seeing you all and serving your eye care needs again. If you have any questions about our new changes, please contact us at (209) 951-0820.
