Rocky Lombardi Memorial Fundraiser

Lions Eye Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving sight by providing no cost eye surgery, eye medication, and other medical eye care to low income people without medical insurance living in Northern California and Nevada. All services are provided in San Francisco at the Lions Eye Clinic/Sutter CPMC Department of Ophthalmology. Hotel lodging is also provided for those patients who need an overnight stay in San Francisco.

I first became aware of Lions Eye Foundation when I became a LIONS Club member and learned more about LEF after referring a patient to the clinic for cataract surgery. The patient had limited income, no medical insurance and declining vision due to cataracts in both eyes. The referral to LEF was made and the patient had the cataract surgery without any cost. After the surgery, the patient was able see clearly to return to work full time.

I have been involved with LEF since 2010 and currently serve as First Vice President of the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees consists of LIONS volunteers from California and Nevada. We are passionate about enabling people to see better who would otherwise not be able to without the help of everyone who supports LIONS and Lions Eye Foundation.
