Maintaining Healthy Eyes

Adult Exams at Brookside Optometric Group

What to Expect

An adult eye exam at Brookside Optometric Group includes a complete evaluation of your visual health and prescription. While distance vision remains stable for most people during their adult years, many will experience changes in their near vision, requiring correction for tasks such as reading or computer usage.

Your Adult Optometric Exam will include:

  • Dilation-Free Exam

Our Optomap Retinal Scanner* produces a high-resolution 3D scan of the back of your eye, meaning no dilation for 90% of our patients.
  • No Eye Drops

We can check the internal pressures in your eye without eye drops or puffs of air in most exams.
  • Visual Prescription Assessment

Has your overall visual prescription changed since your last visit? Our doctors will provide an accurate correction level.
  • Near Vision Evaluation

How well can you see up close for tasks like reading or computer usage?
  • Distance Vision Evaluation

Do your eyes coordinate properly for accurate distance vision?
  • Muscular Imbalance Evaluation

Are coordination or imbalance issues contributing to eye fatigue, double-vision, or headaches?
  • Retinal Health Assessment

Does our retinal evaluation show signs of eye disease or systemic conditions?
  • Peripheral Vision Testing

Do changes in peripheral vision indicate early glaucoma, brain or pituitary tumors, or vascular aneurysms?
  • External Eye Health

Does the external surface of your eye indicate problems like dry eye or more serious conditions?

*The Optomap Retinal Scanner is an optional service provided to our patients at a small additional charge.
